I've been lacking in my posting lately. Partly because it's so nice out and we've been busy and partly because although we're busy there's really nothing all that exciting going on here! Yesterday we went to a parade and then to the lake. They had a zip line which Jake went on quite a bit. I climbed up to it and chickened out. I've gotten afraid of heights in my old age! LOL Kylie went down though. She wasn't scared at all but I was terrified she was going to fall on the lawn and break a leg. It was at least 15 ft. high! She held on for dear life though and wouldn't even let go when Jake told her to let go. Jake's brother had his boat out so me, my sister in law Kerry, and our other friend went each on separate tubes behind the boat. It was a lot of fun. Today I woke up and all the muscles in my arms and shoulders were sore and I couldn't figure out why and then I realize it's because I'm obviously incredibly out of shape and 10 minutes of tubing will ruin me.

The kids are doing good. Kylie is getting excited to start school. I on the other hand am really nervous but I'm trying to just not think about it! I think Kaydence will enjoy following along with some of Kylie's stuff too.

Emeric is doing good. He's singing alot these days and walking everywhere. He tries to run but mostly he just throws his head back to keep his balance and then still ends up falling down. He screams at the top of his lungs too and then when he falls he says "woah". His only real word other than the singing. LOL Seems appropriate for him though! He has a VEEG in Fargo on Thursday and Friday to try to catch some of his facial twitching that he's started doing. They want to determine whether or not it's seizures or a side effect of his meds or something else. I doubt they'll catch it. They never seem to. He's not really been himself this last week. He's been really tired and "off" but I'm wondering if maybe the heat has something to do with it? Hard to say... You can always check his Caring bridge site if you want. That's where I usually update about what's going on with him.

Here's some random pictures I thought you might enjoy!

The green beans are our first pick out of our garden! Kylie said, "I didn't know we were growing THOSE!"

Sam is a good dog. His only faults are: pooping all over the lawn, digging up my flower beds, dragging garbage all over the lawn and barking in the morning when he wants his food.

Oh, and jumping on Emeric which explains the cuts on his face in the next picture.

And this is what most of our day entails; Emeric hitting someone with something. Girls screaming at him to stop hitting. Girls hit back in defense. Emeric comes whining to me begging for sympathy.

A picture says a thousand words!

The girls are going to be famous...

Kylie informed me yesterday that she wants to be a star. I said, "Like a star in the sky?" and she said "no". I said, "Like a movie star?" and she said, "Yes, a movie star."

Kaydence might not be a movie star but she could definitely make it in the music industry. Last night the girls were listening to their Praise and Worship CD and Kaydence belted out the line of one song singing, "Let Everything that has breasts praise the Lord!" Once I started breathing again after laughing so hard I told Jake she should do special music for church!

I'm wondering...

A friend of mine had a post on her blog about Stay at home moms. A big debate insued between working moms and stay at home moms. Some of the women said the Bible teaches that we need to stay at home and not work.

So, I'm wondering... Does anyone know of any actual biblical references to command women to stay at home? Or is it just more implied? Or is it just "the right thing to do"? What are your thoughts?

My husband doesn't think the Bible teaches that women should stay at home with their kids although his mom did and every mother really that he knows has. I told him I'd find out if there were any such verses that existed! So help me out please!!

New Addition to the Family

We go through dogs quickly. We've owned 4 since we've been married. I think this ones a keeper though. He's really sweet and calm. Kylie named him Sam. I got a picture of him. Not great but you get the idea!

Kylie informed me this morning that she thinks we should've named Emeric, "Trouble Maker Boy". Kaydence piped in that that was because he was a boy and a trouble maker. LOL

Happy Belated 4th of July!

For the 4th of July every year we usually end up going to Park Rapids to watch the fireworks. It's about a 45 minute drive but well worth it if you live in a huge tourist trap during the summer and particularly on 4th of July. Detroit Lakes was rated #7 of Playboy magazine's Top 10 Best Places to celebrate the 4th of July. Just where you wanna be then right?

There was a parade at 3:00 so we went to that and it wasn't too bad. We were close to the end so most of the floats were out of candy. The girls didn't get too much but that was fine by me. Emeric ate tootsie rolls most of the time and enjoyed most of the parade except for the fire trucks. He didn't like the noise and shook when they blew their loud horns!

After the parade we went out for pizza with some friends and then over to the rodeo. We haven't been to a rodeo in years and the kids never have. Kylie enjoyed it I think but kept asking why we went to the "radio" instead of swimming. Of course my camera needed batteries AS USUAL(You'd think I'd learn one of these times!) so I didn't get any pictures. We ended up running into my aunt and uncle which was fun, we haven't seen them in a long time.

After the rodeo it took us forever to get out because there was so much traffic and cars were creeping up as close as possible to try to get in. My friend Erika was behind us and I could see this guy trying to get in between us and her so I called her on her cell phone and told her "DON'T LET HIM IN!" LOL I'm mean that way. It was a fruitless effort because Erika insisted that her tires were spinning in the grass and the guy snuck in front of her anyway! ;)

The fireworks were good and Kaydence exclaimed with each and every one, "Ohhhh that one was beautiful!" or "Ohhhh I like that one!". She was quite the commentator!

We ended up home about midnight and the kids thankfully stayed asleep.

One of these days soon enough I have some pictures from a while back that I'll post of the kids. Not tonight though, I'm too tired!

It's been very hot here lately and with the lack of air conditioning in the house AND the van the only thing to do is to go to the lake! We went yesterday and the kids always have a lot of fun playing in the sand and Kaydence mostly likes sitting on shore and eating the snacks I've brought. LOL

We went to Itasca State Park last week and went biking. The kids had a ton of fun. I brought my camera and of course after just three pictures it said, "Change Batteries". UGH. It never fails! So I didn't really get any great pictures but at least a couple!

The kids have been doing well. I can't believe it's already July which means school starts in 2 months and Kylie will be in kindergarten!!! Her and I are going to go to Fargo one day and get what we need in terms of school stuff. I have most of her curriculum but we need to get some math manipulatives and other stuff. She's excited!

Emeric will be starting "school" this winter too. He's actually going to public school! ;) They recommended putting him in a class with other kids who also have delays. It's 1x a week I think for just a couple hours but I think it will be really good for him. So of course I never get out of running around and I'm sure I won't until the kids are gone. They'll start gymnastics again this fall if they want to and Kylie *might* start taking piano lessons. She'd like to learn. I think she's a bit young but I might try to teach her what I can. We'll see.
