Kaydence
Kaydence is my 4 year old, middle daughter. She has really crazy, curly hair and likes to try to snort when she laughs. She used to throw MASSIVE temper tantrums, especially between the ages of 2-3. By massive I mean thrashing, gagging, head banging, 45 minute tantrums. Thankfully she has outgrown them.
She likes to just sort of hang back and watch what's going on around her. At church when all the other kids are excited about Sunday school Kaydence would rather sit on your lap quietly. When we go swimming and the other kids are running around, going down the water slide and happily playing Kaydence will ask to sit in the hot tub the entire time enquiring about when lunch will be.
Her and Kylie fight plenty but are also really close. She told me today that she just doesn't want to go to Cubbies(church group) anymore unless she can be with Kylie because they just miss each other too much! Last week she cried all day that she didn't want to go and I made her and she had a lot of fun. That's typical and I know if I push her she'll enjoy it. I don't want to push her too much but really if I didn't she'd miss out on so much because she just needs some coaxing!
Another thing about Kaydence is if she gets in trouble for something she's quick to say, "I Love you Mommy" and just as quick to point out why she herself wasn't at fault but someone else(typically Emeric) was.
Kaydence is allergic to dairy so you'll frequently hear her asking if we have "Anymore ghost(goat's) milk?". She really does pretty well with it and takes it in stride when all the other kids are eating something with "dairy" but every so often lately she'll be longingly looking at something with cheese and say, "I just wish I could have some". Awww...
She LOVES music and sings all the time. Today she asked me if I would put my cd in for her and turn it to the song called, "Britney I'm sorry for your broken heart". She sang along, knowing most of the words! She got an MP3 player for Christmas and has a bunch of songs of her cd's on there. One of them she sings along to is, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord" but more often than not the words make out to be, "Let everything that has BREASTS praise the Lord". Either way I suppose. :)
Kaydence is my cuddly girl. She'll curl up next to you with her favorite blanket and just sit contently. Tonight I went in her room because she was screaming(typical for her, she has night terrors & asthma, both of which keep her awake & have dubbed her as "the insomniac") and I asked her what was wrong and she, through tears, told me that she "just wanted the magazine". Hmmm.
While Emeric and Kylie happily made a mess today with some shaving cream(more pictures of that splendid idea later) and a bunch of cars Kaydence sat happily, curled up with her blanket, watching a cartoon.
Anyway, just a few tidbits on her and since she's still up coughing so looks like she will be getting another neb treatment. And lucky for her, she just soaks up all the attention! ;)

Not Me! Monday
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
While on the plane to Houston I did not plug my left ear casually to keep from hearing the man next to me slurp and smack his lips continually while drinking his apparently never ending amount of tomato juice.
While walking with Emeric in his stroller on the way back from the clinic he did not fall out of the stroller and smash his face on the pavement when my husband hit a bump. The man in the bus station did not gasp while Emeric just stood up and looked around as if to say, "What just happened?"
I did not rush to the rescue of a little girl who was being smacked in the face by a little boy in McDonald's play place and I did not tip my chair over accidently while running to save her and make a huge scene.
I did not dance around in excitement when my husband put up my new bookshelf and I also did not run to the thrift store just to make sure there were no new books I could put on it. (There were).
I did not think for a second that it would be much nicer to live in a warm state and with great doctors nearby and did not contemplate looking for a job there.

Houston
Our trip to Houston went well. It was really nice which of course made me wonder why I've lived in MN for 28 years!! I updated Emeric's caringbridge site if you want to know how our appt. went. Here are some pictures of our trip!

Warm weather here we come!!
We leave in the morning for Houston. I just checked weather.com and it should be about 70!!! That's a full 80 degrees warmer than it was here last night. I fully intend on wearing shorts...
I think we're all packed and surprisingly we only have 1 suitcase! I filled a bag with diapers, Emeric's medicine, a sippy cup and a bunch of toys. I bought him a couple things that will be new to him so I'm hoping that keeps him happy for at least 1/32 of the trip.
I feel really organized this time even though I waited until today to pack. I printed out a list of all my confirmation #'s for our flights, the rental car and a bunch of important phone numbers. I also printed out directions to the airport and a list of questions for the doctor. Won't she be thrilled!! ;)
Well, think of us at 10:40am and pray mostly for the plane to remain in the air.

An eventful few days...
A couple days ago Emeric fell and twisted his leg. I ended up taking him in because he wouldn't walk on it and it's sprained. So I wrapped it and he was seeming better last night and then I walked into Kylie's room and noticed he was playing up on her bed(which is the top bunk). He hasn't been up there in months because I leave the ladder down but Kylie put it back up and I figured he'd be fine. I turned around to walk out of the room and heard him fall. I ran in there and he was laying on his back, crying but not too much. He grabbed his foot and said "ow" so I know he hurt it again. I'm just amazed he's never needed stitches yet or had any broken bones!!
------------------------------------------------------------
We were walking through Walmart yesterday and we happened to be in the hair dye section and Kylie said, "Mom, will you diet my hair sometime?" I laughed. Before I could say anything Kaydence said, "Kylie it isn't DIET your hair, it's DIAL". LOL I didn't correct them. I did let her try to dye a strip with kool-aid though tell her that bleach was really bad for your hair and that God made her hair that color because He wanted it that color. She didn't seem convinced. So then I told her that I was 16 before I could dye my hair so she'll have to wait a few more years because I said so.
Let's be real, you have to throw that line in the mix once in a while. :)
------------------------------------------------------------
The girls and I made Valentine's cookies today and then later we're going swimming. Our big gift to Jake for Valentine's Day was a tub of ping pong balls. Yes folks, our lives have become THAT boring. We bought a ping pong table a while back and play it a lot actually. It's pretty fun! You know you're in it for the long haul when your husband gets something like ping pong balls for Valentine's Day.
Have a Happy One by the way!

Please lift this family up in your prayers...
They took their daughter in to the doctor in late January for repeated ear infections. They found out she had cancer and she died a few days ago. I can't imagine what they are feeling but to have something that they thought was so simple turn into something fatal so quickly they must be feeling grief beyond what I can even comprehend.

The girls had a dentist appt this morning. They haven't been to the dentist in 2 years at least! Oops! Neither had any cavities and Kaydence got over her extreme fear of any kind of doctors and like this one because they had bubble gum toothpaste.
Emeric was supposed to go but he's sick so he stayed home. Yesterday he had mild runny nose and then last night was up with a croupy cough and a fever. This morning I could tell he wasn't feeling great even though he's not doing too bad. One thing that happens when he gets sick is he has a hard time walking. He falls a lot and stumbles around. Poor guy he smashed his face on the kitchen floor from falling and ends up sitting down a lot because I think he knows he's going to fall. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse and only better. He's supposed to see the eye doctor today too and we've been waiting to see this specialist for 2 months so I'm hoping he'll be better by this afternoon!

Jake and I got home around 1pm and the kids all have a cold. I'm really hoping I don't get it because I hate being sick when the kids are all sick. I'm also hoping Emeric doesn't get it or at least not very bad.
Our concert was great! We won tickets about a month ago to see Jeremy Camp & Bebo Norman so we went with Jake's brother and his wife and had a good time. We've seen Bebo Norman before but we hadn't seen Jeremy Camp. I added one of Bebo Norman's songs to my playlist. It's called Britney. Actually on there I think it's called Britney's Comeback or something. Anyway, he told the story of watching the news one night and seeing a piece on Britney Spears and how she'd locked one of her kids in the bathroom to keep him from being taken away. He said his first thought was to judge her for the poor choices she's made and then he felt God speaking to him and anyway, ended up writing that song. I really liked it.
Jake and I went back to our hotel and were in bed by 10:30. We slept until almost 10:30 this morning. Man it felt nice to get 12 hours of sleep but Jake said it made him feel old to not have the kids, be able to do what we want and then just sleep. I didn't mind, I don't sleep well hardly ever for some reason so it was nice!
Well, I'm off to try to catch up on laundry, put everyone's stuff away and then hopefully take a bath!

We're outta here!
Jake and I are leaving shortly to head to the huge city of Fargo! We've been awayonce overnight since having Emeric so we're excited. We're going to do some shopping, hopefully go see Slumdog Millionare, go out to eat and then go to a concert. The kids are excited and I asked Emeric if he was excited and he pointed at me and ran off a long line of gibberish which I translated to mean "yes". I get really anxious whenever I think of anyone having to remember all of Emeric's medications but I know it will be fine. I wrote everything down! :)
Have a great weekend!

Tuesday Tips
I see that a bunch of people have been writing "tips" on Tuesday's and dubbing their titles Tuesday Tips. So, I thought it would be appropriate to write my own list of tips. The difference is, my tips are for specific people/groups/organizations.
A tip for my son: The toilet won't flush when you've dumped the entire bathroom garbage into it.
A tip for our fired doctor: When you decide to do follow up testing and charge us $1500 please inform us BEFORE you inform us that your clinic no longer accepts our insurance.
A tip for our therapist: Instead of being 30 minutes late every single week why not just schedule our appt. for 30 minutes later?
A tip for myself: When you tell your kids they need to keep their room clean or you're bringing all their toys to the basement and then you follow through with that threat because they haven't kept their room clean make sure you're keeping your own room clean so you don't have to come up with a really lame excuse as to why you don't.
A tip for the bank teller: When a person gives you a deposit slip it really does mean they want to make a deposit.
A tip for our gov't: If you want to get out of debt than put $1,000 in your savings account and pay off your smallest debt first! Oh, and pay your taxes too!
A tip for myself: Wait until you're in a better mood to post next time.
